Precious lives with both her parents, Patrick Pande Kisozi and Hajirah Mwogeza, in the village of Kigwere on Busagazi Island. Her father has a small piece of land where they grow food for their own use, but the harvest is always too small to sell. There are also land disputes, and he lives under the constant threat of losing their land.
Precious's mother, Hajirah, was a teacher at a local school, but she lost her job because she was not a qualified teacher. Precious loves school, but she is often sent home because her parents can't afford to pay the full school fees.
Despite these challenges, Precious is a happy and multi-talented girl, but her asthma limits what she can do.
At KINGSTONE UGANDA PROJECT, we believe all children deserve an equal chance to thrive. Your sponsorship can ensure a child has enough to eat, an education, and hope for the future. As a sponsor, you'll develop a special relationship with your sponsored child, receiving digital photos, handwritten messages, regular updates, and a monthly 1-5 minute WhatsApp video call.
You can choose a child to sponsor or let our team in Uganda select one in greatest need. It takes only a few minutes to become a sponsor, and you could change a child's life forever. Sponsorship costs just £15 a month, covering food, water, education, and healthcare for a child who walks to school from home.
